Is it my imagination or are some of the independent doctors, who are specialists, not giving me the same quality of care as they did before the start of Carilion Clinic?
I believe the doctors are over booking patients just to prepare for a lower refferal from Carilion docs.
I have to wait longer for an appointment for an acute illness, if I want to see a real doctor instead of a Nurse practitioner. I wait longer in the waiting room and in the examining room. If I have lots of questions the doctor is looking at his watch and or cuts me off so he can get to next patient.

I HAVE seen that. I don't think it is your imagination. I believe these docs
want the money as much as Carilion. They are afraid of making comments
here, because they want to stay in good with Carilion in case they don't make it.

This is a great step forward!!!!
Thank goodness SOME docs stand up for what is best for patients.
Thank goodness SOME docs refuse the lies and promises from Carilion and have the GUTS , SELF-RESPECT, and FAITH in their
abilities to " Just say NO" to Carilion.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much for sending this:).
Now, if docs would ask the VA. Dept. of Health Professions why no
Carilion doctors are ever in the " Case decisions" feature of the website. I have been watching the site since 2001, on and off,
and see no Carilion doctors listed. Check it out.

Actually other doctors have switched from Carilion to Lewis-Gale; I've seen other announcements in the newspaper. (I'll check out the Va. Dept. of Health Professsions website.)
I hope to see more doctors resisting the lure of Carilion City. (I think many don't want to join the corporation but it's too hard to resist.) I also hope to see national attention focused back on the issues soon--a return visit from Wall Street Journal maybe?-- since our corrupt little city has chosen to ignore all issues.
Driving down Jefferson Street should convince anyone: Carilion City IS a monopoly, and it was built, at least in part, on the backs of the poor for the enrichment of the already obscenely wealthy.

How is that search on the website doing? I bet you have not found one Carilion doc who has been sanctioned. Yet, some independent docs have been sanctioned for nit picking stuff. Carilion has deep pockets and has purchased lawyers and even the dept. of health professions. It's a small Mafia.

This is the QUACK, ( in my opinion), who is responsible for the loss of a good friend of mine this year. I would not send anyone to this physician. He would rather tell jokes than take care and pay attention to his patients. This loss caused a lot of people to be unhappy and we are spreading the word hoping more people will go to a urologist who cares more about patients than telling stupid jokes. He IS Carilion material..

re: I Hate Carilion - which urologist are you talking about? Are you referring to Poffenberger mentioned above? I thought he was with Jefferson Surgical and admits to Lewis Gale, not Carilion - or are you referring to someone else?
